iAM Smart - Cross-boundary Public Services

Through the interconnection of the "iAM Smart" and the "Unified Identity Authentication Platform of Guangdong Province", Hong Kong residents can directly login to the "Guangdong Government Service Network" and the "Yue Sheng Shi" (粵省事) mobile app and use the government services in the Guangdong Province in an easy and convenient manner.

After registration for an account in the "Unified Identity Authentication Platform of Guangdong Province" via the "Guangdong Government Service Network" or the "Yue Sheng Shi" mobile app and linking to "iAM Smart" in one step, users can choose the "Yue Sheng Shi" (粵省事) services through "iAM Smart" with their mobile phones to login to the service directly afterwards. Alternatively, users can also use a computer to login to the "Guangdong Government Service Network" via "iAM Smart" to access the various government services of the Guangdong Province. Note: The account of the "Unified Identity Authentication Platform of Guangdong Province" registered with "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents" can be linked to "iAM Smart". Legal person accounts are required for accessing some frequently used services on the "Guangdong Government Service Network".

A "system identifier" will be encrypted and transmitted by the "iAM Smart" system to the "Unified Identity Authentication Platform of Guangdong Province" for the identity authentication purpose. The "system identifier", an identifier generated by the "iAM Smart" system, is used to authenticate the identity of the "iAM Smart" users for individual online services, enabling the corresponding online service providers to identify users without the need of using other personal information, such as Hong Kong Identity Card number and name, etc.

Users can use "iAM Smart" to connect with the government services of the Guangdong Province in the "Guangdong Government Service Network" or the "Yue Sheng Shi"(粵省事) mobile app. Since the applications for some services are different, users may be required to use the "Yue Sheng Shi" Weixin mini programs for the application for those services.

To facilitate the registration for "iAM Smart+" in the Mainland, registration locations are available in the Mainland for Hong Kong Identity Card holders to register for or upgrade as an "iAM Smart+" user. Alternatively you can register for an "iAM Smart" account via the "iAM Smart" app.

No. Currently, users can only link "iAM Smart" to their "Unified Identity Authentication Platform of Guangdong Province" accounts registered with a "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents".

The "Guangdong Government Service Network" covers all government services in the Guangdong Province, while "Yue Sheng Shi" (粵省事) only supports some frequently used services suitable for processing with a mobile phone.

Currently, some government services of the Guangdong Province still require a secondary identity verification through WeChat due to operation and security requirements. In addition, the application processing systems of various Guangdong cities are different and users are thus required to handle applications through WeChat. Users may refer to the guides to the various services of the Guangdong Province for details.

Laws and regulations clearly stipulate the types of documents required for the application for the services. Users need to have specific identities required to use the corresponding frequently used government services. The required documents to be submitted have been specified in the service guides. For instance, a corporate business requires a legal personality to login. If users see such messages, they have to login with the appropriate identity as required by the Guangdong Province before using the services.

For the best user experience in using "Yue Sheng Shi" (粵省事), it is recommended to use newer versions of their mobile phone operation systems, such as iOS 11.0 or above, Android 6.0 or above, or HarmonyOS 2.0 or above.
